Consumables charge applies for use. Charges will be automatically billed to the credit card on-file with your MakeIt Labs membership.
As of January 2024, you are charged a rate per hour of cutting time - $25.00/hour for Hobbyist members, $20.00/hour for Pro members. Usage is measured in one second increments, and you only pay for the actual time you use. You are not billed for idle time when the machine is not cutting (e.g. setup of your part in the software).

Software
Designs are best done in any 2D CAD or vector drawing program that can export in DXF or SVG format.
Software must be prepared for cutting in ProtoMAX Layout. Free download here for your own computer (Windows only)

Before you Begin
Before Pressing "Begin" Checklist
Double check your tool path using "Preview".
Look for areas where the nozzle may collide with previously cut features.
Ensure the path is cutting to the correct side of the line.
Ensure that the inside of the path is cut before the outside.
Is the water turned on?
Walk around the machine to verify there are no leaks.
Inspect the abrasive feed tube.
Verify abrasive feed tube is not damaged.
Verify there is no moisture, water, or residue in the abrasive feed line.
Ensure abrasive feed line is installed.
Conduct a nozzle test without abrasive, to ensure abrasive line and nozzle is fully cleared.
Conduct a nozzle test with abrasive to ensure proper abrasive flow.
Verify proper material is selected.
Verify the correct thickness is entered.
Verify material is placed and secured to the cutting deck.
Attach splash guard to the nozzle assembly (cup flipped up).
Set nozzle stand-off to proper height of 0.060" (1.5mm) above the material.
Lower the splash guard (cup flipped down).
Make sure the location of the nozzle is where you want your path to start from.
