Setup:
Take the scanner out of the box plug in the power cables (2 parts) into power. Plug the USB into your PC and then plug the power into the Y on the USB Cable. Now plug the cable into the Scanner.
calibration: I placed it on the floor but the height is fine from a table
PC Requirements. Yes they matter, a lot.
